Dad called with a fishing report for this week. Here it is. The bass fishing has really started picking back up. There have been several fisherman down practice fishing for the upcoming Bayou Outdoor Supercenter Championship Tournament out of State Park on June 7 and 8. One guy came in and had caught 12 good size ones, and had released them. Several 4 pounders or better. The chinqapin bite has died down a little, but there are still ice chests full of bluegill coming in. There hasnt been any white perch fisherman down this week. Catfishing is slow, with most being caught by noodling, since the catfish are in spawn right now. No report on the salvinia, but he didnt mention it getting bad, so I believe the lake is still mostly clear. So come on down and catch a mess!
