Dad, the older I get, the more I appreciate everything youve done, the more I admire and love you. Sometimes I take it for granted that you know how I feel, but today I want to make sure you know what an important part of my life you are … You steadied my wobbly two-wheeler, you made yourself lend me the car, you tried to look calm and unruffled when I left the house looking bizarre. You held me, supported me, steadied me … but loved me enough to let go. Youre my anchor, my safety, my hero, my dad … and youre loved more than youll ever know. Youve always been understanding and patient with me. Youve helped me to see that by trying hard, I was doing my best. But most of all, Ive always known I could depend on your love and support … no matter what. That has given me a special kind of confidence … something that cant be measured in ordinary terms … And on your birthday, if I could give you anything in return for all youve given me, it would have to be the love I always hold in my heart for you.
