Dahi Handi norms will be followed strictly: Thane top cop. THANE: City police commissioner Vijay Kamble has assured of strict adherence to the directives of the Bombay High Court of maintaining law and order during festivals, starting with Dahi Handi. Kamble said, Who are we to relax or tighten the directives and court orders? We will go by the norms of the government and it is our top priority to ensure that the rules are adhered to in all respect. He added, Plans are being chalked out to promulgate the guidelines by putting all our resources in place. All the police stations have been instructed to pull up their socks to ensure that noise levels, prescribed height of human pyramids and age of Govindas are not violated. Anybody seen violating these norms can face action. An academician from the city, Vijay Bedekar, has urged the police commissioner to strictly deal with violators as he has had bad experiences in the past where mighty people have taken the law into their own hands many a time.
