Daily Bread 2014 Ex 26-28, Matt 17 Ex 26-27: God continues to speak to Moses on the Mt and gives detailed instructions about the tabernacle and about Aaron and his sons that will serve as priests. The tabernacle and priest represent Christ. Two specific things that stand out to me are 27:20-21 where the lampstand is to be tended by the priests day and night to burn continually before The Lord. And 28:29 where the names of the children of Israel are engraved on stones that Aaron wears as he goes into the holy place as a memorial before The Lord continually. Jesus does this on our behalf. We can stand in the knowledge that because of His work on the cross, He stands as the mediator and gives us access to the Father continually. Matt 17: Jesus takes Peter, James, and John to a high mountain. While there Jesus was transfigured, His face was bright like the sun and his clothes were white. Moses and Elijah appeared. They heard the voice of the Father declare Jesus is His Son and to listen to Him. Jesus heals a boy who is epileptic. His disciples had already prayed for healing but he was not healed. His disciples asked why they could not heal him. Jesus said it was because of their unbelief and that this does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Jesus predicts His death and the disciples are sad. Jesus answers Peters question about paying tax and provide the funds through a miracle.
