Daily Connection Reflection July 21, 2014 Matthew 17:1-13 Relationship - the core of the Christian faith. In this story Jesus invites three friends to join him for a special event. He spends time in conversation with two past prophets. God speaks to those gathered, and his words are words affirming his love and delight for his Son. Jesus compassionately touches his disciples and reassures them things are alright. The story is filled with glimpses into the meaningful interactions of loving relationships. There is nothing God cares about more than that. He loves us, and delights to draw us into relationship with him. He fills each day with messages (experiences, people, and things) that communicate his love for us and his delight in us sharing our lives with him. They may not be as dramatic as seeing dead heroes, or being blinded by a brilliant heavenly light, but they are just as full of meaning, if we notice them.
