Daily Devotion: Romans 4:18-22 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarahs womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. The bible is riddled with God’s promises. Some promises speak assurance of things to come, others speak specifically to His good plans for His people. It is belief – or faith – that serves as the foundation for these promises. Faith isn’t the source of the promises, God is the source of them. However, these promises will not stand in your life without a foundation that is also from God, and that foundation must be faith in Christ Jesus. Abraham was “fully convinced that what God promised he was also able to do.” (NLT) This is faith. It is being fully convinced that God has come to the table with what He has promised. No word of the Lord is empty, and there is no promised in the bible that does not carry weight. His Word is trustworthy and good – His promises are true. The righteous live by faith!
