Daily Devotion by Raul Ries MONDAY May 12, 2014 All God 1 Samuel 7:1 Then the men of Kirjath Jearim came and took the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the Lord. God allowed the children of Israel to recover the Ark of the Covenant, and the people thought they were saved. They had put their hope and trust in the Ark. They believed their deliverance was attached to the Ark. The return of the Ark seemed to be a real sign God was going to be working among the people and blessing them. It was not a time of oppression anymore. It is amazing, because the presence of the Ark does not guarantee anything. They did not learn their lesson. Just because they had the Ark of the Covenant back, did not mean they were protected. It was not the Ark of the Covenant, it was the Lord. It was God who took it away. It was God giving it back. It was God fighting for them. It was God defeating their enemy. It was all God, not the Ark of the Covenant, but they did not get it. Sometimes, we do not get it. It is not about the church we go to or the pastors we listen to on the radio. It is all about God. It is not about self; it is not about anybody else. It is all about the mission and the commissioning God has given to each one of us individually, to fulfill the ministry of God, not your ministry God. That is why He says if you are faithful in the little things, He will make you greater in the bigger things. God is the cause of all causes, the soul of all souls. ~Augustus H. Strong~
