Daily Devotional Never Lacking Thursday, October 10th, 2013 Read Mark 6:30-44 To [God] who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus. - Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV) Twenty years ago, I went on my first short-term mission trip. I was a very young Christian then. Each of us on the team was asked to share a message at the end of the day to encourage one another. When it was my turn, I felt ill-equipped and lacking. I asked the Holy Spirit to guide me to a passage I could share. God led me to the simple passage where Jesus fed the multitudes. All he needed was five loaves and two fish and that was enough to satisfy the crowd of 5,000. That miracle spoke to me directly. We have nothing much to offer. We come as we are, sometimes lost, sometimes discouraged, and sometimes having little faith. But as long as we are willing to give all that we have, God will do the rest. As long as we are willing to surrender them completely, God will multiply what faith and talents we have to equip us with more than we need to bless those around us.
