Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Two Arrested for Armed Robbery in Roslindale At about 9:40 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2014, officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio cal for a person with a gun in the area of 175 Clare Avenue in Roslindale. While en route, officers received information that the caller had witnessed a group of masked teenagers fighting with her husband, and one of the suspects showed a gun before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered from non-life-threatening injuries to his hands and head and was transported to an area hospital by EMS. As officers arrived on scene, they were updated that some of the suspects were seen fleeing on foot toward American Legion Highway and others had left in a red vehicle with a conspicuous dent in the rear bumper. Officers located the suspect vehicle in a supermarket parking lot in the area of 950 American Legion Highway and conducted a felony traffic stop of this vehicle. Officers were able to apprehend the suspects outside of the vehicle. The suspects were positively identified. A search of the suspects and the vehicle revealed a chrome-colored cigarette lighter in the shape of a handgun stored in the passenger’s side door compartment, as well as a roll of duct tape, handcuffs, and a black neoprene ski mask with a skull pattern on it. The victim’s cell phone was also recovered. Twenty-year-old Luis Perez of Roxbury and 23-year-old Hector Rosario of Chester, PA were both arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
