Daily Good Deed: While walking the dogs, I came across the tiniest of birds lying in the grass. It was tiny, small, no bigger than half of my palm. I thought it was dead, but upon closer inspection it was opening/closing its mouth and moving its wings. Undoubtedly in distress. The location made it apparent it had fallen from a nest above. Still with the dogs in tow, I picked up this little creature that neatly fit within my hand and brought it home. My wife immediately knew what to do and sprung into action! She took the bird to a local animal rescue set up for birds and all sorts of animals. twrc-houston.org/ They told her that there is a good case the little fella will be just fine. We will be checking up daily on the progress. Last time this happened, it was a roughly one month old kitten crying. He, Murphy, is now a very healthy 5 year old.
