Daily Horror Overdose #19 Ok, time to get back up to speed! Heres one that has always spooked me, and thrilled me at the same time when I was a kid! I remember my music teacher in elementary school would play this song in class around Halloween. She would put the LP on her record player, then tell us a story she made up that worked with the music. I cant remember all the details of the story, but she would run all over the music room as she told the tale, hiding behind the desk, and in the closet as she was trying to evade some type of spirit, or figure trying to hunt her down. By the time the story reached its crescendo, she was running down the hallway and screaming out the final lines of the tale. When the music ended, she would come back into class, and was always missing a sock. I believe she told us this story every year of my life from 1st grade up until 4th grade, then we moved to the other side of town and I switched schools. I dont remember any details of the story. Only some of her visual cues, which I have shared with you, and this classical music piece, which is phenomenal. It took me many years to learn about this particular piece. Like some of you, Ive heard it many, many times in my life, but never tried to figure out the name of the piece, or even knew how to figure it out. Classical is tricky like that. Anyway, I think my music teachers last name was Slavinsky, if any of my FB peeps from my hometown happen to remember her. Maybe you might even be able to fill in the blanks of the story and share why her sock was always missing! youtu.be/vGMibtThdmA
