Daily Lent Reflection for April 10: The Crucifixion Read Mark 15:25-26 The day we now call Good Friday was a day filled with bad news, for in it we see the Son crucified and human beings at their very worst. Yet at the same time it is good news, for it reveals Gods suffering with us and for us, His redemption of humankind, and ultimately the full extent of His love. The Romans intended to humiliate Jesus. But John describes His crucifixion not as humiliation, but as glorification. This King of the Jews hung there, naked and suffering, to save His people. He laid down His life for them. It was here that God demonstrated His true character to the human race – His willingness to suffer and die for His people. What does it mean to you that Jesus suffered and died for you? Is there someone for whom you would die? What can you do to help yourself every day to remember the extent of His love for you?
