Daily Manna: The People Of His Pasture Sunday 27, October 2013 TEXT: PSALM 95:1-11 KEY VERSE: “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture…” (Psalm 95:6,7). There is a major activity in heaven that will run the span of the past to the future eternity, and that is worship! The cherubims and seraphims in their uncountable numbers render worship, honour, and adoration to the Almighty God unceasingly. The redeemed believer is expected to be in one accord with the heavenly choir in a perpetual round of praise worship to our heavenly Father. Unfortunately, the redeemed wait for miracles, healing, provisions and other mundane privileges to come his way before exercising himself in the art of worship. Worse, when miracles or blessings are delayed, the redeemed does not see any reason or cannot muster enough enthusiasm to praise the LORD, just like the children of Israel. David was an exception. He elevated the art of worship to the next level. He never waited for miracles to praise God. He always praised God in anticipation of His blessings. In confidence of his philosophy, he invited all the redeemed to come and worship the LORD with him because we are the people of His pasture. Our worship will be hollow and meaningless if we do not obey His Word. Jesus Christ drew a parallel to this when he said, “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love”. True worship then, is the enthusiastic surrender of our will, intellect, gifts, talents, money, properties and senses to be used to the glory of God. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: True worship is the true surrender of self to the Most High.
