Daily Meditation A high-tech way to deliver Gods Word God Noticed Who - conclusion Psa 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. When many think of the word want, they equate it with desire, or lust. However, it has absolutely nothing to do with either. The Hebrew word for want as used in this verse, is châsêr, pronounced khaw-sare. And it means in this instance, to lack! Therefore, David said that because God was his shepherd, he would not lack anything. With that in mind, I’ve dropped by today to remind you that if you, as David did, will put God first in your life, you will not lack for what you need. Bear in mind that what you believe that you need, may differ from what God determines that you actually need! And guess who is the better qualified to make that determination! David had watched many sheep, for much of his life. You may read all about it in I Samuel 16:11,19; 17:15,20. He walked through life with confidence, because it was settled for him, the Lord was David’s Shepherd, and as one of His sheep, David determined to follow Him! And as a result, God said that he was a man after My own heart, who will do all My will! Are you willing to do all of God’s will? If you will just stop attempting to do things your way, and do all of His will, your Heavenly Father will make you to lie down in green pastures. Moreover, He will lead you beside the still waters. And He will also restore your soul, as He leads you in in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Furthermore, even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will fear no evil; for God will be with you, as His rod and His staff, comforts you. But that’s not all my friend, because God will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies; and He will anoint your head with oil, as your cup runs over! Yes my friend, surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life; and you will dwell in the house of the LORD forever!(Personalized from the 23rd Psalm) Yes, God approves of you personalizing His Word, and applying it to your life. Contrary to what some teach, just because you believe, and follow God’s Word, your are not assured of a pain-free, trouble-free life. That simply is not the truth! If it were, than God is going to have a whole lot explaining to do to Job, and other faithful followers. Remember that after the singing for Saul in chapter 16, and most likely composing the songs we call Psalms 19 and 23, David faced the greatest confrontation of his life: Goliath. The story we all know so well is captured in the 58 verses of I Samuel 17, but the motivation of this young man, is captured in his song about that event recorded after he slew Goliath, when he wrote Psalm 8. Look at what was motivating David in I Samuel 17:45. He came to face Goliath in the Name of the Lord that Goliath was defying. Remember how David looked that giant square in his eyes and said, You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.(1 Sam 17:45) And you also can look your adversaries in their eyes and say, You come to me with lies and hardships, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts! My friend, God has never lost a battle, and He is not about to start now. Pay close attention to the next few words I’m writing: The secret to always having God on your side, is living for the Glory of His Name, not yours! In 1 Sam 17:45, David was concerned about defending, honoring, and standing for the Name of the Lord. I’m going to end this series of God noticed ‘who’ with the words of David: Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house, or go up to the comfort of my bed; I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.(Psa 132:3-5) My friend, if you want your Heavenly Father to notice you, then emulate the man who He said was a man after My own heart, who will do all My will! Try it; you’ll love the results! This Daily Meditation Ministry receives no support from any church, or ministry. It’s supported solely by the readers.
