Daily News Of Tripura: Sushil Choudhury denied bail, sent to judicial custody:- Agartala, Aug 31, 2013 : The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of West Tripura district yet again denied bail to Sushil Choudhury on Friday. Both Sushil Choudhury and accused turned approver Niyati Ghosh were produced before the court of CJM Biswajit Palit on Friday and sent both of them to 14 days jail custody. In the bail rejection order, the court observed, ‘in view of the serious nature of the crime, it is not appropriate to release the accused on bail’. Defence lawyers pleaded for the bail of Choudhury, who is the editor cum owner of Ganadoot news paper and master-mind in the triple murder. Choudhury, prime accused of the triple murder held in Ganadoot news paper complex on May 19 last. Sushil Choudhury’s counsel urged the court in the defense submission that the petitioner has been suffering from heart problems. He is an aged person and there are no possibilities of his absconding from this place, the counsel argued. Police has already submitted charge-sheet of the case in the court. The prosecution, however, wasn’t able to prove any charges against Choudhury till date. However, the court of CJM B Palit turned down the plea for bail after a thorough hearing. Both the accused are currently in custody and facing prosecution. They would be further produced on September 13 before the court of CJM. The case is expected to be shifted to the court of District and session judge soon after framing of charges.
