Daily Scripture from the book of Mark 7 verses 1-13: > 1 Now when the Pharisees gathered to him, with some of the scribes who had come fron Jerusalem 2they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is unwashed. 3 For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly, holding to the tradition of the elders 4 and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they wash... 5 and the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, Why do your disciples not walk accdg.to the tradition of the elders...? 6 and he said to them, well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypcrites as it is written, these people honor me with their lips but their heart is far from me... 7 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men 8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men 9 and he said to them, you have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to eatablish your tradition! 10 For Moses said, Honor your father and your mother.... 11 but you say if a man tells to his father or mother, whatever you would have gained from me is Corban 12 then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother 13 thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down 1. Who is God? Jesus strongly reproved the double-dealing religious leaders. 2.Who is man? The religious leaders who criticized Jesus disciples when they were eating bread without washing their hands. ....honor me with their lips but their heart is far from me. ...are following traditiins of men, rejecting the commandment of God just to establish their tradition. 3.What lesson is God teaching me? At that time, the religious leaders made traditions to purify the law of the Old Testament, they keep their traditions rather than worshipping the real God. Application: There are traditions coming from different religious organizations where in many people keep that tradition but always keep in mind that we have only one God and he is the God of all gods, King of all kings. We should keep worshipping and praising Him. Lets follow His commandments and all His teachings wholeheartedy.Praise God! Halleluiah...Have a blessed Tuesday!!! ......................................... ..........
