Daily Stir 11-11-14 “HE SENT HIS WORD AND HEALED US” I - TopicsExpress

Daily Stir 11-11-14 “HE SENT HIS WORD AND HEALED US” I heard about a preacher that said he believed in divine healing alright, but he had just read through the New Testament twice, and he said he didn’t see all that much in there about divine healing. Another preacher spoke up and said it’s in there, but you’re trying to see it spelled out, divine healing. For instance, in what we call the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-10 which says, “Our Father which are in heaven, hallowed be your name.10 Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” There’s divine healing there in that verse but it’s not spelled out. You see Jesus is teaching his disciples how to pray and down in verse 10 he says, “Your Kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Now divine healing isn’t spelled out there, but it’s there. Let me ask you a question; is there any sickness in heaven? No, of course not. Well Jesus said to pray your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. If there is no sickness in heaven, then it’s God’s will that there is no sickness on earth. So there’s divine healing in the Lord’s Prayer. Here’s another example in Acts 5:19-20 which says, “But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,20 “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.” There’s divine healing in all the words of this life but it’s not spelled out. You see Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh” God’s words are health to all your flesh. Because of Proverbs 4:20-22 I can see divine healing in Acts 5:20. Lastly, Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Throughout the New Testament the words save, saved, and salvation have their root in the Greek word “sozo” which means to save, to rescue, to deliver and to protect. “Sozo” is also translated in the New Testament with the words to heal, preserve, save, do well, and to make whole. The Greek word “soteria” (which has its origin in “sozo”) is the main word translated “salvation”. Salvation is a full package and divine healing is a part of it. The Word of God is filled with hidden treasure (revelation) that isn’t always just lying on top of the ground. You must dig (seek) for it. Isaiah 53:5 says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” God help us see all that was provided by Jesus through the atonement, Chris
