Daily Weather Report for Media (Issued on Thursday, 4 September, 2014 at 1000 PST) (Morning) Synoptic Situation: Yesterdays well marked Monsoon low pressure area over central parts of Rajasthan is still persisting over Rajasthan and likely to move north-northeastwards during next 24 hours. Seasonal low lies over west Baluchistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending southeastwards. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 to 36 hours. Strong monsoon currents are continuously penetrating in north eastern parts of Punjab and Kashmir and likely to continue during next 24 to 36 hours. Weather next 24 hrs: Widespread rain-thundershowers are expected in Kashmir, Islamabad, northeast Punjab (Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi divisions), Hazara division, while at scattered places in Punjab (Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, D.G Khan, Bahawalpur divisions), Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Malakand, Peshawar, Mardan divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and at isolated places in Bannu, Kohat, D.I Khan, Sibbi and Nasirabad divisions. Isolated heavy at times very heavy falls are are expected in Kashmir, Lahore, Gujranwala, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Hazara divisions.
