Daily slice of the slami: Today I heard Larry Swacker, the lead - TopicsExpress

Daily slice of the slami: Today I heard Larry Swacker, the lead guitarist I played with in two bands, passed away in Hawaii where he had lived for thirty years. Larry was a bit older than the rest of us, was married, a college student and worked full time. The money he made in our bands was important to him and his wife to make ends meet. He was a very good guitarist, and he sang lead on a couple of tunes. He was a real string bender, breaking strings on his Strat nearly every gig. When he was shredding on a solo, he reared his head backward with his upper teeth out over his bottom lip. His "game face" showed the soul he played with. Larry, we know your soul is a rest and you are playing the gig of your life.
