DairyNZ’s levy vote closing soon! All dairy farmers including shareholders and dairy farm lease holders are urged to have their say in the milksolids levy vote that opened on May 1. Voting packs were posted out. The vote is a simple yes/no vote to continue DairyNZ collecting a milksolids levy. DairyNZ is the industry organisation that represents all New Zealand dairy farmers and is an important funding partner in our work. The levy is 3.6 cents per kg of milksolids and is invested in research and development, on-farm change, extension, environment and people, as well as providing farmers with a voice at both central and local government levels. Voting is easy – farmers can vote by internet, by post or by fax. It is really important that all farmers vote – every vote counts. We encourage all farmers to vote – DairyNZ is looking for a strong mandate to represent all dairy farmers and so it is important farmers cast their vote and have their say.
