Daisy.... looking for her forever home.... read her story..... ~ Julie~ Daisy is one of the worst cases of cruelty we have encountered. On November 27, 2012, the Memphis Animal Services received a call about a stray dog. When the animal control officer arrived at the house, she found a momma dog and 8 puppies lying on the cold ground inside a shed. No blankets or straw for warmth. The man of the house said the dog was a stray but it was later revealed that the dog (Daisy) was his dog. Daisys left rear leg was rotting off and the smell was unbelievable. The animal control officer seized Daisy and her puppies and took them to Memphis Animal Services. MAS contacted Hearts of Gold and we took Daisy and her babies. The vet said it appeared to be an injury related to Daisy getting tangled up in a chain or a rope. Some believe her owner tied something around her leg. We will never know the truth. The owner was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty. Daisys leg was promptly amputated; it had to be done to save her life. She bounced back from the surgery and went on nurse her puppies until they were old enough to wean. Daisy is thriving in her foster home. Julie, her foster mom, reports that Daisy runs, jumps and plays. She is crate trained and house trained. She enjoys the company of some dogs. She is a velcro dog, meaning she wants to be near Julie all of the time. Daisys favorite toy is the tennis ball. Her favorite past time is lounging on the sofa with Julie. Daisy is heartworm negative & spayed. She is ready for a new, forever home. Would you like to be part of Daisys miracle life?
