Dakota update # 6 This afternoon I will have officially fostering this little guy for a full week, he is quiet and he does not bark when people come over, but then again I we have some pretty mouthy dogs that take care of that for him, He has not had an accident in my house he is good at holding it for hours and gives me little hints like pacing in the doorway when he needs to potty. He gets along with all my animals, even my daughters hyper hound that stayed with us over this weekend. He walks amazing on a leash no tugging if I did not have too many dogs already I may keep him, but if I did there would be no way I could continue fostering and I think that that is important because without foster families SPIN could not do the amazing things they do to rescue and re-home these fur babies. I know that we will find Dakota a loving home when the time is perfect for now I get to love him and help him adjust and prepare him for his next adventure. This morning at 6:30 my senior Chi had to potty , this also woke the hyper hound so I let the chi and the hound outside then chi went to the living room couch but the hound was bouncy I guess Dakota heard the noise as he came down to greet us I let him out to potty also. 6:30 on a Sunday was a bit too early for me I wanted to go back to bed but If I returned to the bedroom Lilly the hound would wake the rest of the dogs and Paulene there was no way she would settle easily. I thought to myself the Single bed I put in my office may work to my advantage I can curl up there for an hour or so and leave my door open so Lilly can do her thing. Dakota loved this idea after he thought I was not looking he hopped up on the bed. He inched his little body closer and closer until he was the perfect foot warmer we stayed in bed till about 8 am. Lilly eventually curled up on the dog bed in the office but not until she went up and down the stairs about 100 times.
