Dallas Sheriff Celebrates Birthday of Muslim Leader and Offers Perks for Muslims by JANET LEVY October 28, 2013 Recently, Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez joined in the birthday celebration for Syed Fayyaz Hassan, co-chair for the American Muslim Democratic Caucus (AMDC), an integral part of the DNC. The AMDC counts CAIR Vice-Chair Sarwat Husain among its directors. Ms. Husain was the founding president of CAIR San Antonio and a precinct chair (2008-2010) and delegate to the Texas Democrat Convention. She serves on the Texas Media Empowerment Project, writes for the San Antonio Express News and is a former FBI advisor who sat on the bureaus regional council. Dallas County Sheriff Valdez has provided Halal meals to Muslim prisoners in Dallas County facilities and made special provisions for them to celebrate Ramadan. She also agreed to hold a job fair at a local mosque to recruit Muslim youth for the Sheriffs Department. (No word yet on recruitment efforts in local churches and synagogues but it was rumored that such activities would be a violation of the so-called separation of church and state clause of the First Amendment). (Sarcasm intended). (NOTE: In 2011, Congressman Peter King held a hearing on the threat of Prislam (prison Islam) entitled The Threat of Muslim-American Radicalization in U.S. Prisons). CAIR, a Muslim Brotherhood front organization, was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing prosecution in U.S. history - the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trials, which took place in Dallas from 2007-2009. The Holy Land Foundation, headquartered in Richardson, Texas, was the largest Islamic charity in the U.S. It was designated as a terrorist organization in 2001 and closed by the federal government. As a result of the trial, it was revealed that the HLF provided material supported to the terrorist group Hamas and related offenses.
