Dallas is known locally as the home of the $30,000 millionaire. What this means is that many people here in Dallas lease expensive cars, go in debt to wear flashy clothes, dine at popular establishments, and basically exhibit an expensive lifestyle to impress other people all the while bringing home a $30k per year income. I find this amusing because I can drive through apartment complexes here in Dallas and see Mercedes, BMWs, Jaguars, Lexus, and Cadillac Escalades parked in them all the time. Not only are these nice cars sitting at apartments that cost no more than $1,000/month, these same cars are always parked at Walmart. Its sad to be a slave to such superficiality! At the end of the day no one cares what you look like, what you drive, or where youre eating.
