Damaraland Camp is situated in a whimsical setting... I stayed in three camps in Namibia and this one really was whimsical in its setting. The landscape lent itself to beautiful purple and orange sunrise and sunsets over mountains that look almost fairytale. The Huab River Valley lends itself to desert adapted elephant, springbok, desert adapted giraffe, oryx and the rare black rhino. The staff at this camp along with camp manager Maggie Vries were some of the most welcoming of all camps I have visited. Despite their long days, they were always singing, sharing stories and appeared to really enjoy your enthusiasm and share theirs as well.
