He was asked whether a gay wrestler could succeed in WWE. Darren replied to the TMZ camera man saying, “Absolutely. Look at me. I’m a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’m gay. And I’m happy. I’m very happy.” That is what he added later on his stunning statement; I don’t think it matters,” he said. “Does it matter? Does it matter to you? Does it change what you think about me? “I guess if you want to call it coming out. I really don’t know what to say it is, but I’m just letting you know that I’m happy with who I am, I’m comfortable with myself. And I’m happy to be living the dream.” He added: “Some people might not like it, some people will like it, but I’m here to please myself, I’m here to be happy. “It’s very important to be happy with myself.” For the record, Darren Young is now the first ever openly gay WWE superstar in the history. Later, we saw Stephanie McMahon, Vince McMahon and Triple H with other big names supporting Darren Young on his orientation. Stephanie McMahon twitted; Congratulations to @DarrenYoungWWE for being the first openly gay WWE Superstar! Next came Triple H’s tweet, and that is what he said on twitter; Congratulations, @DarrenYoungWWE for living YOUR life, YOUR way. #proud Vince McMahon tweeted; I respect @DarrenYoungWWE’s decision to come out and am happy to see the support from the WWE Universe. Darren’s tag team partner and real life friend Titus O’ Neil tweeted; I’m VERY PROUD of @DarrenYoungWWE He’s been like Family to me & my Kids And that won’t Change! young1 (Source : WWE) The WWE champion John Cena chearly announced that he is very happy Darren Young made the decision to announce he is gay publically. “Oh Wonderful” The champ said to a TMZ camera man, “I know Darren personally. Darren’s a great guy. That’s a very bold move for him. And congratulations for him for actually finally doing it. Good for him. It doesn’t affect his work, he is a wonderful worker.” Now with this announcement Darren Young is sure to be the focal point of all media conversations.
