Dance project - anyone can participate!!!! AND YOU THINK YOU CANT DANCE? This contemporary flow class will be based on release technique, floor work, contact and other form of improvisation. Aspects of Yoga, Pilates(Synergies in motion – authors own program of Pilates technique will be often part of the class), Gymnastic, Ballet and the other body movement methods based on breathing techniques. The focus will be on the bodys alignment and working economically through the space using directions, impulse, flowing, … The initial warm-up starts with the simple walking, following the rhythm of the music and recognizing the space and the other participants through the space using our energy to flow with maximum efficiency. We will try to explore the broadest movement in outer and inner world. Also, we will try to use strengthening the centre and upper body for taking weight by traveling across the dancing space and floor. Than we will try to use the partners body and through the contact will try to build another directions, isolations and make a new movement, a new direction or body impulse. Ill teach how to work with the partners (the other participants) without stress, mistakes, how to explore themselves and other around, how to use maximum and make a totally new movement. Afterwards, the steps will be varied, faster, slower, walking forward, walking backwards, speed variations, jumps and other instructions which be given through the class. The sequence of the floor part leading us to a better connection to the Earth and how to embrace a possibility to elevate from the floor and stay in rhythmic change and dynamic transition. Ill try to show and teach basic principles of modern dance, Limón technique and teach principles of movement and simple level of coordination pf the hands, arms, legs and torso. The rhythm will never be interrupted, everyone works finally in own speed and technique. The same exercise and immense variations of the same exercise. Who follows whom? Breathing is through all class very important, cause during all work-out we are working work-in both and body is going along with the music, instructions, thoughts, moving, … At the end of the class we will do stretching and yoga exercises to relax our body from the walking, running, jumping with the slowly breathing, meditative thinking about the whole process of the body movement. WHAT IS MOTIVATING US TO MOVE? We want to invent something new. Can we stop thinking, learning, being aware of the Others? Can we stop questioning our moves, life, left and right side in our body, meaning of every move? Of course NOT!! Can we be aware of the space around us? Or looks in a different way without touching or minimal touch experience and feel the music, everything around as in a new way? YES!! And this we shall try to put in best way in our dancing class. We will try to dance without a burden of outer world and feel, experience something now and beautiful in ourselves. Exploring ourselves in different space, in other conditions, with little outer instructions from the floor will be the best dancing experience ever. We will use enjoyable and passionate moment to show ourselves how everybody can dance if they really want to – otherwise why we dance? SMALL GOALS LIST OF THE CLASS: •exercise concentration and breathing •create inner movement •questioning without stopping •being aware of the partner in the space Duration of the workshop we get inspired in: self-absorbing, intuitive exploring of the hidden world of every participants, creation of the new body movement and body expression and japanese spiritual individualism and intuition. SHORTLY ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Sandra is Croatian modern and contemporary dancer. She has been interested in dance and any kind of art of body movement since her childhood. She attended various dance classes and workshops. Born in 1977. in Zagreb, Croatia. She obtained BA in philosophy and religion science and MA diploma European Union politics, and during that time she is dancing and showing her passion for all kind of body movement and dance. After years of training, searching, exploring, exercising, participating in many national and international workshops(ZPC, Zagreb, Tala, Zagreb, Aleksandra Misic; Impulstanz, Vienna; Joe Alegado (modern dance limón technique); Bruce Taylor (modern jazz); Faust Frey (difficult things can be easy); David Zambrano (contemporary class); Franca Pagliasotto (yoga-ballet); (Geneva, Marco Berrettini (contemporary flow, improvisation classes) and platforms she decided to make a new steps and wide a horizons in her dance life and show to the other enthusiastic and dance passionate people everything what she learned through the years and make a dance class and dance project (she is still working on) “BETWEEEN LEFT AND RIGHT” as a philosophical introduction to our inner world which is separated on two sides- left and right (East and West: good and bad: black and white). Among all this ambiguities we have to decide which side at the moment is better, wiser or positive. Human being is always destructed by two sides or two choices. Sometimes is hard to decide which side is better, more open, compatible, more conflicting or more symmetric. The main tack of the project is to find the right side in ourselves and try to live with this opposites and use it in a best way. Try to be flexible between freedom and oppression or support and opposing and etc. We ought to find as a persons a solution. This is our main task on the Earth. When we broke a window of opportunities, we have to find a way to open a new window of a new possibilities. There is no time for wasting time. Human being has to be intuitive and active both, at the same time. Has to re-unit Left and Right – Good and Bad – Black and White in Ourselves. SUZUKI, E.FROM NEW YORK, 1960. 1- The first session will be on 19th January, from 6:00 to 7:30,the venue: 13 Gawad Hosni St., 2nd floor, Downtown, Cairo. 2- The sessions will be for free, and for all ages. 3- The dance will be acrobatic dance. 4- The instructors, Sandra, asks you to bring comfortable and warm cotton cloths, socks, bottle of water and maybe chocolate bar or some fruit (apple, banana).
