Danger Of Pride Proverbs 16:5 ”Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. Today, we are looking critically at a topic called DANGER OF PRIDE. The first thing I will mention is pride is a sin unto God n it attract serious punishment from God directly, that is why the bible says in James 4:6 “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Pride is a serious enemy of progress n it has limited d destiny of many people. A lady came to me for prayer that she is still looking for job after 8yrs at the university, then I sighed n I said to myself u dont need prayer, what u need is counselling, so I counsel her on what n what to do to make it rather than looking for job, although at first she didnt take to my advise but now, she is selling fresh vegetables n supplying popular varieties shopping plazas in Lagos. DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRIDE U CAN SEE IN PEOPLE 1. Pride of Look; some so much belief in themselves as beautiful which has made them lose d man who is suppose to marry them n now they are running after pastors to pray for them to get husband, likewise some men too. Gal: 6:3 ”For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 2. Pride of achievement/possession; this is very sad cos I have watched some pastors bragged about their CVs on d pulpit, always talking about d first class grade on their certificate while innocent members sit there n clap at their pastors achievement. D bible says in Pro. 27:2 ” Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips. 3. Pride of salvation; I watched a believer criticizing an unbeliever one day n she said ” u will end up in hell So called born again Christians have to be more careful so as not to end up like Saul. 4. Pride of background; this affect most rich families n it has destroyed them countless times cos someone destinies to marry a pauper n enjoy life together but now she is rich n want to stick in a rich family n it affects her destiny. 5. Pride of grace ; nowadays a lot of believers are confused as to what holiness means; some believe it is not dressing properly n avoid anything that makes u look beautiful while some feel holiness is a thing of d heart but whichever one it is, only God knows who is holy cos d bible says “ our righteousness is like a filthy rag it just d grace of God upon our life that can save us not self-righteousness. DANGERS OF PRIDE 1. It damages relationship with God n human being. A woman who has pride will not be submissive 2 husband. 2. It makes someone to lose honor. Pro. 29:23 says ” Ones pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. 3. It causes prolong journey in life 4. It makes people to isolate someone 5. It is a punishable sin unto God 6. It brings people from grace to grass. To all believers who follow this ministry with heart God has sent His Angels out to bless and uplift you this year but u must be very humble. This 2015 is not a year to boast at all, it is a year of humility so that Heaven can have mercy on u. Finally, Jeremiah 9:23 “Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, because everything we are or have comes from God to whom we give account of our lives. PRAYER: IF YOU HAVE BEEN ROBBED GOOD OPPORTUNITIES OR MISS YOUR DIVINE HELPERS AS A RESULT OF PRIDE, TODAY GOD WILL RESTORE YOUR LOSSES IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
