Daniel 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up. When I was much younger, reading the bible was more of a fable, full of stories on how to be a good person, like a Disney movie – But as I got older I’d come to realize these were actual events and I understand that having faith wasn’t an emotion, but something connecting you to your belief, something you stand on, something that develops what we call standing on principal and you are subject to obeying. Now, if you are not obeying God, then there is a problem with your faith. When you get frustrated with your spiritual life because there is an area or areas of sin, still residing in you…That is not a fact, but the truth - There is something that God has said that you do not believe, but true faith leads to obedience. Our three brother’s Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego in Daniel must had great faith in God, in order to talk to Nebuchadnezzar like that; during that time in history it was unheard of to talk like that to a King like that, hed have your head for lunch; but they had so much faith in God nothing the king could do would separate them from trusting in God’s power - When you step out and obey God, you inevitably find that God responds to your obedience with His faithfulness. Your experience of God’s dependability then leads you to greater faith and greater obedience.
