Daniel Lanois – im setting up, getting ready to play a show, and there he is sitting at a table with another fellow. Just sitting there hanging out, while Im trying to calmly set up my gear to play a bass solo show. (If you dont know who he is, look him up, and youll realize why I was having a hard time staying calm) So... I keep setting up, with the intent to go and thank him for the immense amount of soul hes poured into our musical lives. Before I can even stand up straight, hes going out the door. Thats like being a physicist, watching Einstein walk into the coffee shop youre in, and then watching him walk out before you can go over and have a chat. THAT was Daniel Lanois!! I didnt know if I should run after him simply to just chat, or stand where was and deal with the fact that I just about peed myself
