Daniel chapter 8 tells us that the kingdom of Rome and papal Rome - TopicsExpress

Daniel chapter 8 tells us that the kingdom of Rome and papal Rome specifically (i.e. the Christianized version of Rome called the universal/ catholic church) which dominated the world by reason of its political guile, (beginning in the 1st 3 centuries AD and lasting until about 1798) introduced such practices that were designed to discredit and altogether obliterate in the minds of the people the daily meaning the perpetual high priestly ministry of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary.[Dan 8:9-14, Hebrews 7:25 and 8:1,2]. What innovations did papal rome bring in to REPLACE & NEGATE Christs heavenly ministry or to take peoples minds from Christ and the important work for their salvation that he is doing NOW? 1. THE CONFESSIONAL - This is one of the most abominable things any1 could do against Christ and in the face of heaven. This is where one goes to a priest (in place of Christ who is our heavenly PRIEST, Heb 8 & 9] and confesses his sin to him and receives forgivness of his sin. This is designed to usurp Christ because the BIBLE is clear that (a) There is ONLY ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD & MAN & THAT IS THE MAN CHRIST JESUS, NOT ANY MAN ON EARTH OR PRIEST! [1Timothy 2:5] (b) ONLY GOD CAN FORGIVE SINS, NO MAN CAN OFFER TO FORGIVE SINS [Mark2:5,7] (c) We are admonished to CONFESS OUR SINS TO GOD, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, WHO IS REPRESENTING US B4 GOD IN THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY, NOT THROUGH ANY MAN, OR EARTHLY PRIEST [Heb 4:14-16, 1John 1:9] (d) Humanity has BUT ONE ADVOCATE/ DEFENDER WHO STANDS FOR HIM BEFORE GOD THE FATHER, AND THAT IS JESUS CHRIST. We are told that we should not sin but if we do we should trust in that advocate WHO ALONE, BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN WHERE WE HAVE BEEN AND SHED HIS BLOOD FOR US, CAN DELIVER US AND GET US A VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY! NO MAN CAN DO THAT! [1John2:1,2, Heb2:18] 2. THE WORSHIP OF MARY - God ALONE is to be worshipped. The worship of or praying to or through Mary is pagan and idolatrous. First of all Mary Jesus mother is dead so she cannot hear. Secondly, the Mary depicted when one prays with the rosary etc (instituted by Dominic, a priest and so called patron saint) is not even the dead Mary of the Bible but a pagan diety which papal rome took from the pagan catalogue of pagan rome). WHEN ONE SAYS THE HAIL MARY, IE - PRAYS TO MARY AND ASKS HER TO PRAY TO THE FATHER FOR THEM holy mary mother of god pray for us sinners THEY ARE EXCLUDING CHRIST AS INTERCESSOR AND REPLACING HIM WITH MARY AS THEIR INTERCESSOR/ADVOCATE BEFORE THE FATHER. HERE AGAIN, JESUS CHRIST IS MARGINALIZED AND HIS AUTHORITY USURPED! 3. THE MASS - During the mass it is taught that Christ is crucified afresh ie- crucified again and again for the sins of men. THIS SUGGESTS THAT CHRISTS ONE TIME SACRIFICE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRICE FOR HUMANITYS SIN. WHAT THIS THEREFORE MEANS IS THAT ONLY WHEN ONE GOES TO THE MASS WHERE CHRIST CAN BE SACRIFICED AGAIN ON EACH OCCASION FOR THEM, CAN THEY RECEIVE FORGIVENESS OF SIN. THE POINT BEING MADE BY PAPAL ROME THEN IS THAT SALVATION COMES THROUGH IT, NOT THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. THIS IS ANOTHER MEANS OF SETTING JESUS CHRIST ASIDE, AND THIS POWER MAGNIFYING ITSELF [DAN8:11] IN THE FACE OF CHRIST! THIS HOWEVER IS AGAIN FALSE AND NON BIBLICAL. THE BIBLE SAYS IN HEBREWS 10:10,14 THAT CHRISTS OFFERING OF HIMSELF ONCE FOR ALL HIS ONE OFFERING WAS SUFFICIENT TO ATONE FOR MAN! However all this is in a context. 2Thessalonians 2 talks about the ANTI-CHRIST, Which sits in a religious garb, as or in a church even, which exalts itself ABOVE GOD and TRIES TO REPLACE GOD, OR PUT ITSELF IN THE STEAD OF JESUS CHRIST. Daniel 7:25 says this same power will think to change Gods laws and times, and Daniel 8 tells us that this SAME HORN/POWER would persecute those who follow Christ. History tells us about the inquisition and the dark ages where actual Christians were persecuted by this papal power (AD538 - 1798). The Bible! [TIMEsigns today!]
