Daniel was walking down the road. There were others with him, but he didnt even notice. His mind was elsewhere. For 3 weeks he was in great torment. He was worried about people. He had been praying earnestly. He had fasted from meats and other choice food, opting for bland veggies and salads. Daniel had fasted and prayed hard, yet there was no answer. There was no evidence of his prayers being answered. How can this be? God had always answered him before. But now he was in great sorrow and there was no relief. Suddenly an angel appeared before him. Daniels companions ran and hid. Daniel fainted. He was given strength to stand. He was given strength to stop trembling. He was given strength to speak. The angel said that he was delayed because of battles he was in. Another angel, Michael, had come to his aid so Gods message could be delivered to Daniel. Daniel was told that he was highly respected. Daniel prayed earnestly to know God more. He sought God more than anything. Though he was highly respected, the message to him was still delayed. The cool thing is that Daniel did not give up. He did not stop his prayers. He did not ask God why. But he continued to pray and seek God until he got an answer. Here are some facts that jumped out at me... Angels battle for us. There are battles taking place that we do not see. Daniel was told that he had Michael as his angel. In another scripture we are told that children have angels who are constantly in the presence of God. Angels are not to be worshipped. They have power and fight for man, but they are not God. They serve God and get their power from Him. Angels have the power to touch us and give us strength. Daniel needed 3 touches just to stand up and talk. Why am I thinking about angels? I usually do not. I know they are there, but Im focusing more on God. However, I should try to understand more. God mentions them numerous times in the Bible. The real reason is because last night I had a vision. I saw Joshua in his room. I saw rings of light going down over him. I saw white beings (Ill say angels because that was my impression) lining the walls of his room, shoulder to shoulder. I then saw one angel take a step towards Joshua and kiss him on his forehead. The angel stepped back in position. Then the rings of light began flowing up and the angels were gone. I was left wondering what I just saw. I wasnt dreaming because I wasnt asleep. Im not going crazy nor did I watch anything on TV. I had not read anything about angels before that. There was no reason for me to think of angels at that moment. I had been praying and concentrating on Joshuas healing. Anyway... Joshua did well on just pressure support today. His CO2 was lower this afternoon than it was this morning. They stopped some of his sedation medicine at 10, and he still remained calm the whole day. Joshuas arms laid flat today. That is a huge change since he had coded. He usually has his right arm held tightly at 90° at the elbow. He looked at me with his beautiful blue eyes and he also actively followed the starry lights on the ceiling. The plan is to extubate tomorrow morning. Im praying that this is the last extubation needed. Im also praying that God will heal Joshuas mind. The enemy stole, but God restores. Joshua has already made progress. With God, all things are possible. Did Joshua see angels in his room? I cant answer that. What I do know is that God has listened to our prayers and has sent an answer. The answer may be delayed due to battles I cannot see, but I wont stop praying and believing God. God is always faithful. Here are a couple of pictures of Daddys boy. Joshua has impressed me with his tenacious fighting, yet peaceful gaze. Hes a good boy and Im very proud of him.
