Danish composer Søren Nils Eichberg presents a taut operatic thriller GLARE about trust and reality at Royal Opera House. Søren Nils Eichberg, winner of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition and Danish National Symphony Orchestras first composer in residence, has won widespread acclaim for his orchestral and chamber music. Award-winning American Thaddeus Strassberger directs. The the dark sci-fi opera asks us to question what we can really trust: which emotions are real and which are virtual? When the girlfriend of one of the four protagonists is seen to be disconcertingly perfect, doubts surface over whether she is too good to be true.
