Dar al-Turath al-Islami Johannesburg is now offering all learners, male and female, an opportunity to understand the holy Quran through an intensive part time Arabic Course. This Course will equip the successful graduate with the following skills: • Ability to read and write Arabic, thus enabling them to successfully negotiate the previously untapped Arabic world. • Ability to translate the entire Quran and give a basic understanding of all its chapters, verses and major concepts. Prerequisites No prior knowledge of Arabic is required. The course is aimed at complete beginners. However, students are required to have a basic ability to read the Quran (even if with some difficulty). Students also need to have the commitment to revise the work covered every week as well as complete the homework exercises. This will require about 3 hours of revision every week. Course Fees Registration fee: A once-off registration fee of R300 will be payable (includes course notes and includes the fee for February) Monthly fee: The monthly fees are R300 per month. Provisions will be made for those who are only able to afford a portion thereof or unable to afford anything. Please email the course organiser regarding this. Registration Registration will take place on Saturday 09 Feb 2014 at the venue. Please come through and learn more about the course, the instructor and our methodology. Course facilitators: The course will be taught by, Mawlana Abdullah Abrahams (Graduate from Dar Al Uloom Al Arabiyya Al Islamiyya, Strand, Western Cape). Mawlana will be supported by other scholars and DTI personnel.
