Darko Tresnjak, artistic director of Hartford Stage, winning a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for A Gentlemans Guide to Love and Murder during the 68th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall. My husband, Josh, I love you, Tresnjak said. Robert [L. Freedman, book writers and co-lyricist] and Steve (Lutvak, composer and co-lyricist] and a beautiful cast headed by Jefferson Mays. He then thanked his 87-year old mother who literally taught me how to jump out of airplanes. She fought during the Second World War. Tresnjak, who was born in the former Yugoslavia and came to the U.S when he was 10, then sent a special message to his mother in his native language. Its pretty damn awesome, Tresnjak said after the win, and getting the award from Clint Eastwood was [expletive] great. He says the message he gave his mother who is pretty frail and living in Maryland that I love her and that this is all for her and to just hold on. courant/entertainment/arts/curtain/hc-tony-awards-winners-20140606,0,3655135.story darkotresnjak/
