Darlings, I want to enjoy Halloween 2014 to the fullest so my brother Lorenzo Bergen and Duchess Chiquita Bergen are driving to Houmas House Plantation and Gardens to attend the Euro Renaissance Festival at Houmas House Each year the Euro Renaissance Festival comes to Baton Rouge to display Europes best in show autos and motorcycles. This year is special because they are making a visit to Houmas House for the afternoon. On Friday, October 31st, these classic cars will be on display on the front lawn from 12 pm- 3 pm. Save time during your visit to marvel at these classic beauties! We cant think of a better way to experience luxury both indoors and out. When: THIS Friday, October 31, 2014 Where: Houmas House Front Lawn Time: 12 pm-3pm If the Sugar Barons Could See This Now! As Seen by Queen Grace I like to imagine what the former owners of Houmas House from the late 1700s and early 1800s would think of their Sugar Palace now. They would be amazed by how massive the mossy Live Oaks are, how the Mississippi river has turned and changed shape and all the growth that has taken over the thousands of acres of sugarcane fields. What do you think they would think about running water at the quick turn of a faucet? Or an entire room lit up by the flip of a switch? See the Timeline of Electricity Here I would be so proud to show them how we honor their legacy to this day. We still have some original furniture in the home, their formal china on display and have brought the mansion back to its glory from the days of being the largest sugar producing plantation in the South. I think they would agree that we are living the life of a modern day Sugar Baron. If you have not visited Houmas House lately, plan a trip soon. Theres always something new to see.
