Date : 5.12.2014 Condolence Message of Honourable Selvi J JAYALALITHAA, General Secretary, AIADMK, Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu The passing away of Justice V.R.Krishna Iyer, former judge of the Supreme Court of India. Indeed a huge loss to the nation. Apart from being an erudite judge, he was a great humanitarian and social worker. His distinctiveness was evident in the fact that he served as a politician, legislator and administrator before he made a phenomenal mark as Judge of the Supreme Court. He has delivered innumerable landmark judgments which stand etched in the annals of judicial history. His dynamic career was characterised by people-oriented jurisprudence and purposeful contribution to furthering the cause of social justice and human rights. His constant activism and commitment to national and social issues will be ever remembered. He will remain a beacon light for legal luminaries and his legendary and sterling judgments will guide generations to come. Though his enriching presence is no longer around, judicial and legal circles will continue to cherish the legacy of his wisdom and erudition. I convey my deep condolences to his family and friends and pray that the Almighty may grant them the fortitude to bear this loss.
