Davao News: PREPARE FOR EL NIÑO, DOST URGES DAVAO The Department of Science and Technology over the weekend exhorted government agencies and local government units in the Davao region to make the proper preparations for El Niño, including a possible post-El Niño event. DOST Davao regional director Anthony Sales said El Niño could be damaging to the productivity of the regions farms and plantations, state-run Philippines News Agency reported. “There should be strategy in place now,” he said, adding local leaders must ensure access to water for areas that will be affected by the drought.
