Dave Murrays Latest STL forecast and weather disco…TUESDAY...December 23, 2014: ***Not much going on in our weather Tuesday...waiting for part 2 of our two part storm system...a southern low pressure that surges rain and in time wet snow our way Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.*** TUESDAY: Lots of clouds...chilly...a few spotty rain showers WINDS: Southwest 5-10 M.P.H. HIGH: 49 degrees TUESDAY NIGHT: Clouds…periods of rain…mixing with wet snow late, late night WINDS: Northwest 5-15 M.P.H. LOW: 40 DEGREES. WEDNESDAY: Lots of clouds…wet snow...especially in the morning and early afternoon...1 to 3 inches(first look) mainly on the grass....windy WINDS: Northwest 15-25 M.P.H. HIGH: 36 degrees Christmas day will bring quiet and chilly weather THE WEATHER DISCO: A very interesting and tricky weather pattern the next few days…think of it as an Alberta clipper that gets bogged down and allows a storm system to spin up out of the southern plains. A break for much of Tuesday…spotty showers…as we wait for the southern plains low pressure to pull together… this is the problem and tons of questions… and thinking we are not going to have a solid feel for this situation until the low pressure forms… why the questions..its the track of the low once it forms and that is key to the type of weather will will see… so the forecast solutions will not become clear until the low pressure is almost on top of the region… small shifts in the un-known track will result in massive forecast shifting…a real push and pull situation… patience grasshopper… right now its a mix of rain and snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning… but thinking there will be some form of accumulation of snow...a very wet snow...snow at 36 degrees...so roads should be pretty good...most of the grass, trees, parked cars, decks, etc. CHECK OUT ALL THE MAPS BELOW: CLICK ON LINKS...THEY WILL GIVE YOU A GREAT OVERVIEW OF THE WEATHER SURFACE MAP: nws.noaa.gov/outlook_tab.php NATIONAL RADAR: weather.gov/radar SEVERE WEATHER: spc.noaa.gov PROG MAPS: aviationweather.gov/adds/progs SNOW MAPS: nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa
