Dave is quiet with a lovely forgiving temperament & has excellent ground manners. He is easy to wash, float, worm, clip, hard ties, has been led in from the paddock by children (under supervision) & is unphased by dogs. Hes fine with motorbikes but has had limited exposure to other traffic. No vices, but does like to be boss of other horses. Ive owned him for 5 years now and in that time we have done very few outings (due to time & funds). We have however gone to a Steve Brady Clinic (Temora, 2009) & one WAQHA B Show (July this year - he was completely unphased). Ive taken him on many trail rides & behind sheep and he definitely enjoys himself. He has had all sorts of riders on him, from beginners to babies to the very experienced and he goes kindly for everyone. Hes an honest, albeit lazy horse who doesnt like to work too hard! Recently we started learning neck-reining but we most often ride two-handed in a snaffle. Hes got a lovely soft mouth & knows his leg aids, spins & rein-back. Id prefer to sell Dave to a knowledgeable home as a confidence builder. Im selling him as Id like to buy a more serious competition horse for myself and unfortunately can only afford one horse at a time. Very sad sale, hes been a great horse for me to have an introduction to Quarter horses & Western.
