Dave wrote--Ive posted a few times on here before. Asking about neuromas, sock quantities, etc. I had a LBKA on 10/23/13 and a revision on 11/24/13 due to a fall 2 weeks after my amputation. I had my amputation due to several failed surgeries on my left foot and ankle. After each one of my surgeries i always had a problem with nerve pain and was always told it was due to all of the scar tissue, nerve damage etc. About 2 1/2 months ago i was feeling pretty good, i was up walking around for most of the day but still had a problem severe nerve pain at night and was put on a compound gel and gabapentin. Each week my time spent walking began to get shorter and shorter but the pain kept increasing. After a visit to the doctor he said i had a neuroma located on the left outer side, this visit was about 4 weeks ago. Last week i had a follow up and he scheduled a ct scan because the neuroma seemed to be much larger and i also told him about areas of pain throughout my limb. I see my doctor on June 3rd to go over the results. Im now down to about 30 minutes to an hour walking till the pain becomes to severe. Has anyone ever been through this? Im also in the process of changing prosthesist, just not comfortable with my current one. My pain is really bad at night, very sore to the touch let alone the constant pain that feels like someone is sending an electrical shock through my leg. My doctor is pretty confident that ill have surgery but wanted the ct scan to pinpoint the problem. In the mean time are there any pain remedies that has worked on anyone? I was really hoping to be back to work by now but that obviously wont happen. Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post. Thanks
