Dave wrote--Need a little bit of advice. I had my LBKA on 10/23/13 and a revision on 11/24/13. Received my prosthetic leg on 01/13/14 and visited my prosthesis once a week for 3 weeks and twice over a 3 week period. On my last visit on 02/24 he told me that he didnt need to see me anymore unless i had a problem. Maybe its just me but this didnt sit to well with me. To make things more uncomfortable with my prosthesis,i was told by them that i could make monthly payments toward my balance of over $2200, which i didnt receive my first statement until about 3 weeks ago. I made a payment of $100, im currently on unemployment, and the other day i received a statement saying my account was past due and needed to be paid immediately. Now the worst part. I have a large neuroma that has been getting much larger in the past 2 weeks. Its been very uncomfortable and painful to move around in my prosthetic. Im wanting to change prosthesis but need a written prescription from my doctor. My question ,after all this, is how should i feel about changing prosthesis? Should i be upset over this? Is having a neuroma that causes this much pain normal? And what are the best ways to take care of neuromas? Sorry for all of the writing but im really looking for the best advice from anyone.
