David Jack Brown CLARKSBURG — David Jack Brown, age 65, of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on December 11, 1948, in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Jack Darrell Brown and Elinor Mae Brown Cayton of Pompano Beach, FL. In addition to his mother, David is survived by one daughter, Christina Brown Hartline and husband Matthew of Charleston, WV; two grandchildren, Madison Debra and Claire Sophia Hartline; one sister, Debra “Debi” Brown Duarte of Clarksburg, WV; one uncle, Everett Lynn Ward of Greenwood, SC; one aunt, Janielle Este of Charleston, WV; one niece, Dina Duarte Turner and husband Ronald of South Charleston, WV; two great-nephews, Kobe Lee James Duarte and X’Zayvier Emileo “X” Turner. Also surviving are many cousins in various states. In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by one brother, James Darrell “Jimmy” Brown, maternal grandparents, Edgar and Sarah Ward, and paternal grandparents, Lee and Elsie Brown. David graduated from the Roosevelt-Wilson High School, Class of 1966, and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. He then continued his education at Fairmont State College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. He loved baseball and even coached T-ball. David was also an avid fan of horse racing and the stock market. He was an Elder at the Westkirk Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home in Clarksburg, WV, on Thursday, June 26, 2014, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Don Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Cemetery. The Davis-Weaver Funeral Home is honored to serve the Brown family during this time. davisweaverfuneralhome
