David Kracov is an American painter, animator and sculpturist. He is best known for his Looney Tunes shadow boxes and his car painted metal wall sculptures. As a tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11, David created the metal wall sculpture, “Reflections”, which depicts the New York skyline, with his signature butterflies soaring towards the sky, where the Towers once stood. In the reflections below, the Towers can be seen. Sculptures from this edition adorn the walls of several prominent New York real estate tycoons. David Kracov’s breathtaking sculpture entitled The Book of Life will really give you butterflies.The metal sculpture, which stands at around half a metre tall, is a tribute to the extraordinary life of Rabbi Yossi Raichik, director of Charbad’s Children of Chernobyl organisation. Each of the hand-painted butterflies represents the 2547 children that escaped Chernobyl’s nuclear disaster and, with the help of the charity, have been given a chance at a new life. David’s sculptures are included in the collections of several of Hollywood’s elite entertainment names, including Steven Spielberg, Matt Damon, Judy Sheindlin, Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Whoopi Goldberg, Joel Silver, and Richard Donner.
