David Moyes full Q&A with MUTV after that shocking FA Cup defeat to Swansea Q. David overall, what was your assessment? “Ah, look we’ve gone out of the Cup you know so you can only be disappointed, I didn’t think we deserved to lose the game, I thought we were the better team but didn’t take our opportunities to make chances and when we did get half opportunities take them, and when we went to ten men it was a case of let’s just see if we can get a replay and make sure we get back but we kept trying to go for it even when we were down to 10 men, and we got caught a little bit and we lost the second goal.” Q. You’ve given players opportunities today, do you feel that they didn’t take the opportunities? “We’ve tried to give all the players opportunities, you know, so we’ll see what we can do in time but they are all good players, they are all top players, I think they need to take a wee bit of responsibility about, we played well enough today and they had to, especially in the first half when we had chances to maybe create or make more goals, I thought we didn’t do that.” Q. When you get the equaliser quickly, did you think that was the platform then to go on and win the game after they took the lead? “Well I thought it was the only time they’d been up the park in the first 15 , I don’t know when they scored, 15/20 minutes? I thought it was the only time they’d been up the park so for us to lose a goal was poor but we got back right away, that’s what I said, I thought that we had times to make more chances, make more goals, and maybe abused it a little bit there, the amount of opportunities we got and we didn’t go and try and finish one better.” Q. Any issues with the red card? “No, none at all, the referee called it right.” Q. The fans at the very end stayed with you at the Stretford End, some of the players when they were walking off were still cheered by those supporters, what would be your message to the fans tonight? “Well the supporters have been great, I know they need to see us winning, I’m really disappointed the results haven’t been good enough here at Old Trafford especially so thank you for their support and we’ll keep trying to get them some wins.”
