David discussed the importance of confessing our sins to God and lamented how horrible his life was when he was trapped in sin. Of course, David, is a significant ancestor in the lineage of Jesus. Through Jesus, while confession of sin to God is still a useful practice, God took away the guilt and shame of sin. When believers sin, we feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit because we have failed to honor our God, but we are forgiven and not condemned. We do not allow sin to rule us and for the enemy to debilitate us by taking away our joy through sin. we do not live in sin, but rather in the freedom and joy of our risen Saviour.
