David just cant seem to catch a break. ......the news at the oral surgeons office today confirmed that. The reason his head and face has caused EXTREME pain is because of what his x-ray showed....he has a displaced mandible fracture on the same jaw he had his surgery. One may ask how is that possible??? Our thoughts exactly.... The Dr said he wasnt able to see Davids previous films so he wasnt able to compare. Couldve been overlooked in surgery or the Dr said that sometimes muscles will displace these bones for various reasons...either way, the news for poor David means another painful trip to Morgantown to be re-admitted for the same surgery he had 3 weeks ago. Along with the RE-WIRING of his jaws for another 6 to 8 wks....not exactly what our prayers were for today...were so afraid this will set back rehab as it did today. The pain is just too great to complete. A new medical director started at Devlin today (Thank you Jesus! ) and started the ball rolling with his pain meds!! Hopefully the addition to these meds will start to ease some of this craziness....thanks to Dr William Lamm for your immediate attention today!! Thanks also to Kelly Holler for staying yet another night to give Lauri, Angie and me a break....as much as we hate not being there...we know we have to take a rest at times. Thanks SO much! Were looking at either Friday or Monday for this next consult in WV.....will keep you posted. PLEASE pray that David gets a much-needed pain-free nights sleep!
