Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Real-D 3-D): Taking place 10 years after Rise, the Simian flu has wiped out a large part of the human population worldwide. Only a select few survive in a deserted and now run down San Francisco. As the town starts to run low on gasoline a band of survivors go up the mountain to try and unblock a dam and use the water to power the city. When they go up there they run into Caesar and his army of apes telling them to leave their home alone. But as most things go, humans decide to break their promises and it becomes an all out war against the apes. The movie is explosive and eye popping. Who knew that apes with guns could be so refreshing and exciting? Either way, Dawn is a great sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes and a fun summer flick. 3 1/2 stars, PG-13
