Day -8 They start with negative numbers during transplant. When - TopicsExpress

Day -8 They start with negative numbers during transplant. When you reach day 0 that is transplant day. Then you count positive after that. Brysin ended up not having a cold last night so we were able to get out of the room for a bit and play. He still has a runny nose and sneezed a lot today. His little nose is so red from constantly being wiped. They started him on IV fluids last night to get him hydrated for the chemo this morning. The doctor said we can wait unit tomorrow or the day after to put his NG tube in. Its a tube that goes in his nose and down into his stomach. They will use it when he is not feeling well enough to eat or drink and to also give him meds. This is something I have been dreading since I found out about it. Putting it in sounds like a really awful thing to have done to you. They have been giving him numerous meds all day. One of them, Ativan makes him very loopy and he acts as though he is drunk. We were walking down the hall and he dropped his train. He bent down to pick it up and fell head first onto the tile. He had a little red mark on his forehead but is doing fine. He had a nice nap and then went back out to the playroom. He has a little friend Ella that he enjoys seeing. They dont necessarily play together but he talks about her when shes not around. We hope she goes home soon but will miss her when she does! Its been a good day :) Keep them coming!
