Day 1 - On Takbeer Today, I joined dozens of others at my local masjid. We raised our hands in takbeer and said, “Allahu Akhbar.” Our hands push back the cacophony of the world physically and in actuality. This is how we prepare ourselves for a conversation with Allah (swt) and this is how we begin Ramadan. As you enter this blessed month, let go of all the sadness and struggles of the previous year. Enter with a renewed commitment and desire to make yourself stronger and better. Do not fall into ritualistic worship. Do not let fasting be the simple deprivation of food and drink.
